Video-On-Demand Solutions
At Convenience Learning we are experts in designing and installing solutions to deliver video over your network. We use three different technologies to meet your specific needs; Video Multicast, Video Server and Video Conferencing.

VIDEO MULTICAST Video Multicast is a technology that streams video over your network or the Internet, live or stored and forwarded. This solution is designed for one-to-many communication, where a presenter streams to many receivers. Each receiver views the presentation much like watching TV; they have no control over the play or pause of the presenter. A video multicast installation can include technologies that include the capability for the receivers to “chat” questions back to the presenter, giving the presenter the opportunity to respond to questions live. If your need is to distribute information to a large audience that is geographically dispersed a video multicast may be the solution for you. A multicast solution can be configured to stream to thousands of simultaneous users.

VIDEO SERVER Video Server installations are most often used to manage and distribute video based content or curriculum over a Local Area Network (LAN). Each user has complete control over the content that is being accessed, like the controls of a VCR or CD player. Video is stored digitally on a large file server; the content is then streamed over the network managed by software that controls the amount of data each user has access to. This “amount of data” or bandwidth is regulated by the software so as to not overload your network. For a more technical explanation of this technology see our white paper (in PDF format). User playback of the digital video can be as simple as access through Windows Media Player, a free utility on almost all computers. A video server can stream full-screen MPEG-1 content to 100 simultaneous users.

VIDEO CONFERENCING Video Conferencing technologies have been around for many years. Recently new capabilities have been added to video conferencing that allow it to move out of the board room and into conference rooms and on to desktops, increasing access to and utilization of the technology. Video conferencing is typically used where communication one-to-one of a few-to-a few is required. This solution delivers complete two-way communication between the participants.

All video delivery solutions from Convenience Learning are designed to meet each customer’s specific needs. Each of our technologies can be installed separately, to work alone or combined to provide a complete digital video solution.
