Video-On-Demand Network Delivery Options

PEER-TO-PEER NETWORK
DEMO Requires Macromedia Flash Plug-In.
|
A peer-to-peer network does not have a file server attached to it. It is designed for small groups of computers, typically five or less. Courses are loaded to the individual hard drives of each computer. One computer is defined as the “master” and the data records are stored on it.
This solution gives you a cost-effective way to start realizing the advantages of networking multimedia courseware. A peer-to-peer solution will be delivered to your school; out-of-the-box ready for your students. We pre-install the courses you ordered, configure the computers, color-code all the connections and ship the solution to you. No on-site consultant visit is required. A web based training class will be held defining the management capabilities of the system.

RECORDS NETWORK
DEMO Requires Macromedia Flash Plug-In.
|
This solution takes advantage of your existing file server based network. A records network can accommodate an unlimited number of concurrent users across both local and wide area network connections. Courses are loaded to the individual hard drives of each networked computer. The data records, (student information, grades, etc) are stored on your existing file server.
A records network solution allows you to take advantage of a network that is already in place without impacting its’ overall performance. No video files are streamed over the network. No separate file server is needed. Courses are sent to you directly with instructions on their hard drive installation. A CLI consultant will contact you with the appropriate passwords and assistance to complete the installation. After all of the courses are installed on the individual computers, a consultant will make a one-day on-site visit to ensure proper networking of the records and provide training to both the technical and instructor staff.

STAND-ALONE NETWORK
DEMO Requires Macromedia Flash Plug-In.
|
The stand-alone video network is a file server based network where connected PCs do not get or need access to any other network resources. In other words the PCs on this network will be dedicated to delivering the courseware and will not need access to the Internet or other file servers that may be in your school. A stand-alone solution can manage up to 100 simultaneous courseware users across many computer labs or classrooms. All courses are loaded on to the hard drives of the file server. All the student records are stored on the server and the video is streamed over the network.
A solution involving a stand-alone server does not impact any other file servers that may be in place. The stand-alone solution is an “island” within your existing networks. No video traffic will be allowed to affect the performance of an existing network or its’ file servers. A CLI consultant will stage your server at our offices. The network operating system, appropriate streaming software and courses will be pre-loaded. If you purchase PCs from us, all PCs will be staged and configured as well. All components of the system will be shipped to your school directly. You will be required to un-box all of the PCs and file server. Each PC should be located in its appropriate place with keyboard, mouse and monitor connected. Once all of the components are unboxed and setup a CLI consultant will perform the on-site tasks of the project including testing and training.

INTEGRATED VIDEO NETWORK
DEMO Requires Macromedia Flash Plug-In.
|
An integrated video network is a file server based network where connected PCs need access to other network resources. An integrated video network will likely use the computers of an existing lab, library or classroom. The PCs connected to an integrated video network may be used for many other student applications like word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, Internet access, email and others. This video server must integrate with other servers on the network. The servers may have different operating systems, i.e. Microsoft NT server and Novell NetWare. An integrated video network solution can manage up to 100 simultaneous courseware users across many computer labs or classrooms. All courses are loaded on to the hard drives of the file server. All the student records are stored on the server and the video is streamed over the network.
This video server will have the greatest impact on a customer’s network. The involvement of a customer’s technology support will be key to the success of this solution.
